Magnus Wangen is a senior scientist in Environmental Technology at IFE. He obtained a Dr. Scient. from the University of Oslo (1994). His main research interest is the modelling of geoprocesses and geodynamics, especially processes related to sedimentary basins: overpressure and pressure build-up, thermal transients, geochemical reactions and transport, and hydraulic fracturing. Magnus works on applications to basin modelling and CO2-storage making use of numerical methods and programming.
Nina S.C. Simon is Department Head for Environmental Technology and research area manager for Geo-Processes at IFE. She holds a PhD in Earth Sciences from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, The Netherlands (2004). Her fields of expertise include fluid-rock interactions, focus on the flow, reaction and deformation processes, thermodynamics and numerical modeling, laboratory experiments and the study of natural rocks. Nina is currently adjunct associate professor for Energy utilization in geo-systems at University Centre Kjeller (UNIK) and University of Oslo (UiO).
